This class is geared toward beginner and intermediate musicians who are new to bluegrass soloing, or those who have been frustrated trying to learn to play solos. Fear no more!
In this course, we will focus on the most common approaches to soloing such as melody-based soloing versus non-melody-based soloing, and improvised soloing versus playing a prepared solo. The primary goal is to provide the students with the skills necessary to play bluegrass solos and participate in bluegrass jams.
Students do not need to have previous experience playing bluegrass, and you don’t need to be able to read music. There are no pre-requisite songs, however, students should be able to play the G Major scale on their instrument in the first position.
