Introducing a hard-driving, traditional Bluegrass band that captures the authentic spirit and energy of the genre. The music of The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys cuts right through the noise of the world and speaks plainly to the soul. From the Smoky Mountains, they are ambassadors of their genre, bringing their music from rural bluegrass festival stages to the rock clubs of Europe, and now to Concord Conservatory.

CCM faculty speaker Jackson Carruthers will explain how each featured piece broke with the conventions of its time. CCM faculty artists Rose Hegele and Steve Marotto will perform along with guests, Nicole Parks, Elaine Rombola Aveni, and Matt Sharrock.

Meet
Rich Stillman

Rich Stillman has been a banjo player-about-town in the Boston area for many years. Among other acts, he founded and led the progressive bluegrass band WayStation and played and recorded with Adam Dewey and Crazy Creek, The Bogus Family and currently, Southern Rail. When it comes to teaching, Rich explains, “I am tenacious about finding ways to connect people to the music they want to play. If someone has made the effort to find the banjo and the decision to take lessons, they are clearly motivated enough to learn. My job is to help them fulfill that dream.”
