Explore the art of digital music production at our brand-new CCM 2 Media Lab! Whether you are a curious beginner, a budding composer, a musician looking to explore digital tools, or a young gamer dreaming of designing your own soundtracks, this course is your gateway to the world of music creation.

No prior tech or software experience is required to get started.

What You Will Learn

  • Software Essentials: Master Apple’s powerful music-making tools, including GarageBand and Logic Pro.
  • Track Building: Learn how to compose, mix, and build original tracks completely from scratch while experimenting with unique digital sounds.

For Kids: The Magic of Video Game Music

For youth who love video games, this course pulls back the curtain on how music brings virtual worlds to life. Music sets the mood, builds tension, and defines iconic characters. Student creators will dive into game-audio techniques to:

  • Create loops, soundscapes, and themes that match gameplay.
  • Use sound design to tell a compelling story and enhance a player’s immersive experience.
  • Understand how music seamlessly interacts with action, emotion, and pacing on screen.

For Adults: Hands-On Production and Creative Freedom

This course offers a highly supportive environment for adult beginners and traditional musicians ready to explore the digital landscape. To accommodate a mature learning pace, adult classes feature:

  • Targeted group instruction on production fundamentals and software navigation.
  • Dedicated independent lab time built directly into each 90-minute class session, allowing you to create at your own pace.
  • Tailored faculty guidance to help you translate your unique musical goals into digital projects.

Expert Instruction

Classes are led by Manuel Garcia-Baro, an acclaimed digital composition expert and a faculty professor at Berklee College of Music. Under his guidance, students gain invaluable industry-relevant insights in a supportive, highly engaging instructional environment.

A Cutting-Edge Learning Space

All sessions take place in the brand-new CCM 2 New Media Lab located on 15 Junction Square Drive, Concord. This state-of-the-art space is intentionally designed and fully equipped for modern digital music creation, real-time collaboration, and creative sonic exploration.
