Music is coming to the streets of Concord!

To celebrate the Concord Conservatory of Music’s 20th Anniversary, we’re bringing the joy of live music out of the concert hall and into everyday life with Pianos on the Town. In partnership with the global arts nonprofit Sing for Hope Piano(s), artist-designed pianos will appear throughout Concord and West Concord—free for anyone to play, enjoy, and discover.

From May 30 through June 26, 2026, these pianos will become open-air stages, invitations for spontaneous concerts, and colorful landmarks celebrating our town’s creative spirit.

Artists and Partner Resources

  • Artists: Make Your Mark

Are you a local or regional artist ready to transform a piano into a playable work of art?
We’re seeking bold, durable designs that celebrate creativity, community, and music. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Concord’s public art landscape while reaching thousands of residents and visitors.

    • Application Deadline: *CLOSED
    • Artist Stipend: Selected artists receive a stipend of $750.
    • Digital Spotlight: Each piano features a custom QR code linking directly to your website or artist profile.
    • On-site Materials: To support your creative process, CCM will provide a selection of essential on-site materials. Any additional specialized paints or unique supplies beyond the provided essentials will be the responsibility of the artist.

    Application is now CLOSED

Selected Artists will be announced Friday, April 17!

*To ensure our artist-painted pianos seamlessly integrate with the iconic aesthetic of Concord’s Historic Districts, we have aligned our selection window with the town’s specialized review process. This allows our selected artists to be part of a curated celebration that honors both local creativity and our community’s historic preservation.
