Bring your entire family to the CCM Discovery Day Open House on Saturday, September 7th, from 1 – 3 pm for a fun and interactive event.
Whether you are 3 or 94, our Instrument Exploration enables you to explore a host of instruments. You and your kids can figure out which instrument is the one to start learning today. CCM faculty—highly accomplished instructors and musicians, will demonstrate how to hold, play, and experience various instruments. The event is not limited to beginners. Students already playing an instrument have the opportunity to meet instructors to find the right match.
Introduce your kids to the world of music through singing, dancing, and games! Explore what the CCM Early Childhood and Music & Movement group classes will offer your student.

Kids will develop social, cognitive, and emotional skills while having fun with music in a group class. Complete with dancing and creative games, young musicians will explore all the qualities of music through movement—learning about pitch, phrasing, accent, and all of the richness of music. They won’t even realize that they’re gaining ear-training skills and other musical concepts.
Learn about our early childhood classes, Family Notes and Music Makers, when young children work on playing with sound and motoring around.
At Discovery Day, you’ll also learn about the CCM Music Achievement Program (MAP)—a free, private lesson enrichment program created to give our students access to a broader musical education.
MAP enhances a student’s experience by increasing their musical fluency and engaging them with other students, their audiences, and various genres of music. Find out what CCM provides to students beyond exceptional private lessons, all included in their private lesson tuition.
Registering for lessons at CCM welcomes you to a music community that offers workshops, masterclasses, ensembles, and numerous performance opportunities.
A thorough CCM placement process ensures that every student takes lessons with a faculty member best suited to their needs.
Placement Auditions for the Overture String Orchestra for students in grades 4 – 8 from 1 – 2 pm at the Open House.
Please sign up for a live placement audition.
CCM’s Overture String Orchestra provides a fulfilling chamber experience that upholds the West Side Strings philosophy of personalized instruction. This intimate group setting supports and enhances the concepts taught in school orchestra programs.
Placement is firstly based on playing level, but students will typically fall into grades 4-8. Overture string players need not be CCM students, but are required to be in private lessons with a qualified instructor and are encouraged to participate in their school orchestra programs if available to them.
