During this workshop, you’ll connect jazz and classical chords through transcribing a segment from Brahms’ Ballade in D minor. Delve into strategies for handling an abundance of musical symbols on a page.
Explore utilizing these symbols to craft a seamless sequence of chords or phrases, determining whether to approach them aggressively, delicately, or with rubato. Additionally, the workshop will touch on linking Music Theory, expressive musical interpretation, and music history.
Meet CCM faculty member Kitty Cheung-Evans in South Hall East.
