Thursday, January 27th, 2022 at 7:00 pm

Presented online by guest lecturer Layth Sidiq

There are many types of music in the world. The music that we know and learn usually stems from the western classical music tradition. But there are many other styles of music that are very different, and very cool!

Did you know that a violin in Arab tuning is different from western tuning? Did you know that there is such a thing called a b half flat played in the Maqam system?

In this exciting music history lecture, guest artist Layth Sidiq will show us the exciting potential of the Arabic style and teach students a different way to play and listen to music.

Complimentary lecture and registered participants will receive the online link before the lecture.
