Unlock your musical potential and transform your choral singing with this progressive course.

Sharpen your musicianship skills in the ways of sight singing, ear training, and musical interpretation, in the powerful connective learning environment of choral singing. Singers will use songs in a variety of genres to build on the musicianship challenges often encountered in choral music and attain tools to learn their music more thoroughly and with more confidence.

You’ll expand on the traditional choral repertoire, taking the Learning Chorus into the realms of jazz, American roots, R&B, gospel, musical theater, and contemporary music. There will be solo opportunities and a chance to perform together as a group at the end of each 10-week session.

Singers joining the Learning Chorus will be able to approach a new piece of choral music with helpful tools for applied study, both in rehearsal and for independent practice. Learn to accurately interpret rhythmic notation, identify and sing common melodic intervals, distinguish between different chord qualities, and hear your part within the context of choral harmony.
