Trumpet

Margaret Romero, DMA, recently moved from Boulder, Colorado where she maintained a large private teaching studio. Dr. Romero earned her undergraduate degree in Trumpet Performance and certificate in Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Colorado, Boulder.  Music education is very important to Margaret. Although she works well with students of all ages, she particularly enjoys focusing on fundamentals with beginners, laying the groundwork for future success. Many of the skills needed to develop as a musician are applicable in other areas of life and Margaret feels strongly about helping her students develop those skills through music lessons and performance opportunities!  Before moving to Massachusetts, Margaret taught band at a Waldorf middle school in Niwot, Colorado and was director of band studies at a community music school in Lafayette, Colorado.  As director of band studies, she directed the Rocky Mountain Concert BandJumpStart to Middle School BandIntroduction to Band, and organized the Meet the Instruments class.  Dr. Romero recently published an article in the International Trumpet Guild journal based on her dissertation entitled “Military Band Excerpts for the Trumpet Player.”  When not teaching, Margaret enjoys playing trumpet with the Wyoming Symphony, running, cycling, swimming, and hiking with her husband Henry and their tiny-but-tough dog, Pita Lou.
