Kevin Scollins is a versatile guitarist, composer, and educator who believes that learning music should be as joyful as it is transformative.
Inspired by The Beatles to first pick up the guitar, Kevin developed a wide-ranging musical background spanning jazz, pop, rock, R&B, and more. His teaching approach seamlessly blends creativity and technique, guiding students to dive deeper into the music they already love while exploring new sounds that build curiosity and confidence.
With years of experience teaching at institutions like Berklee College of Music, South Shore Conservatory, and Foxboro High School, Kevin specializes not just in guitar, but also in improvisation and ensemble playing—giving students the essential tools to express themselves freely and play with others. His philosophy, recently highlighted in his masterclass Play Right Away, is simple: the fastest path to progress is playing music you enjoy from day one.
An active performer whose main passion is jazz, Kevin has played at prestigious venues including the Washington D.C. Jazz Festival and The Jazz Gallery in New York City. This professional experience provides students with a valuable, real-world perspective on thriving as a musician.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music and recipient of the prestigious Jimi Hendrix Scholarship, Kevin tailors his lessons to meet any student where they are—whether they are a beginner or an advanced player ready to take their music to the next level.
