Armando
Ortiz

Violin

Armando Ortiz brings a vibrant and globally-informed perspective to the Concord Conservatory of Music, where he will serve as the esteemed conductor for the Overture String Orchestra and offer private violin instruction. His dedication to music education spans a remarkable journey, having taught a diverse range of students—from children to adults of all ages—across Mexico, the USA, and China. Armando’s passion for teaching ignited early, as he began sharing his knowledge and love for music at just 15 years old, fostering growth and appreciation in countless aspiring musicians.

As both a distinguished violinist and an engaging conductor, Armando holds a profound appreciation for music history. He finds immense joy and purpose in understanding the narratives behind the notes, skillfully applying historical context to enrich both his teaching methodologies and his musical interpretations. This integrated approach allows his students to not only master their instruments but also to truly connect with the stories and traditions embedded within the music they create.

One of Armando’s core passions lies in the continuous discovery of new and often overlooked aspects of music. He thrives on uncovering curious facts, exploring less widely known musical histories, and championing the works of underrepresented composers. His dedication extends to learning deeply about the cultures that shaped these compositions, and he is eager to share these rich insights with his students, broadening their horizons and fostering a more inclusive understanding of the musical world.
