Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin

Caleb Israel Swan is a dedicated multi-instrumentalist and educator who believes in the power of American roots music to bring people together, helping students build deep technical skills while discovering the joy of lifelong learning.

Caleb joins the Concord Conservatory of Music with a teaching philosophy rooted in patience, enthusiasm, and genuine collaboration. Hailing from Anchorage, Alaska, he views music as an accessible, shared journey where growth happens through curiosity, practice, and the simple satisfaction of making music with others.

A versatile performer and scholar, Caleb studied American Roots Music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. In his lessons, he teaches mandolin, guitar, banjo, and fiddle—guiding students through traditional bluegrass and roots styles while instilling strong foundational technique, ear training, and stylistic authenticity.

Beyond the classroom, Caleb is an active touring musician with a vibrant career on the national roots circuit. Since graduating, he has toured extensively across the country, performed at major bluegrass festivals, and served as an instructor at music camps throughout the Northeast. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he remains a regular performer across New England’s acoustic music scene.

At CCM, Caleb is driven by the opportunity to share his passion with students who love music, empowering them to embrace the learning process and find their unique voice within traditional American roots music.
