Bluegrass Singing - Introduction to Vocal Harmony

Bluegrass is known for its instrumentals, but harmony singing is a big part of the style. Jam sessions are enhanced by people who can sing two, three, or four-part harmony. This class introduces people to bluegrass singing, both lead, and harmony.

We will cover topics like determining your vocal range, singing with accurate pitch, finding lead and harmony vocal lines, blending voices for harmony, and a capella singing.

Bluegrass singing does not require a classically beautiful voice. In particular, bluegrass harmony singing depends on hearing and singing the right part and making voices sound good together. As the saying goes, the whole is truly greater than the sum of the parts. Come learn how to become one of those parts.
